Since the beginning of my marketing studies, I knew that I wanted to work in digital marketing.
Google seemed to be my best friend, because I spent a lot of time there searching for curses, books, and future jobs in digital marketing.
After more than 4 years working as a social media manager, I had to return to Google.
This time not to Google it, but to find out how it really works.
That's because I started as a social media manager at this SEO agency – the MIK Group – to work.
Interesting, isn't it?
I have more…
As two of the most important strategic channels for digital marketing, social media and SEO play a major role in the growth strategy of most companies.
But what would a “ELI5“What is your viewpoint on each of them?”

Social Media refers to monitoring a company's interactions with its audience through the implementation of social media platform content strategies.
Paid media are a very important part of distributing your content to achieve business goals and requirements.
All of this could be done to:
🥁 And 🥁…
SEO stands for Search Engine optimization.
SEO strategy refers to making your website or content more searchable, so that your website (ideally) appears first in the results when people search for a question or topics related to your industry.
I'm sure you knew that too, but things get more complicated when you dive in.
Let's delve deeper into the things I've learned about SEO so far.
(Make sure you can swim). 😉 🏊♀️

The first search engines were born in the early 90s – users could enter keywords into the search engine and receive a list of websites related to the search term.
Excite, AltaVista, and Yahoo! quickly changed the way people used the internet.
When Google was finally released, it quickly became the preferred search engine, as the quality of its search results far surpassed the other options.
The four common types of SEO are:
If you don't optimize it, you could miss out on visibility and pedestrian traffic.
In less than 3 months, SEO seemed very fascinating and interesting to me.
I have developed a mini-strategy based on my perception of how SEO works.
I began to explore the similarities and, on the other hand, the differences between these two digital marketing strategies used for product or service marketing.
Social Media
What changes very quickly in social media in this case are trends.
The second you think you've figured it out, your favorite social media platform changes its algorithm or adds a new feature that will cause you to change your planned strategy.
As very active users of social media channels, we see new updates daily.
We have all witnessed the rise of 24-hour story trends, which could be found everywhere on all social media channels.
Snapchat launched first, and even LinkedIn tested it.
With the rise of short-form TikTok videos, every other social media channel wants to adapt (or copy).
We can already see Meta trying to catch up with the reels.
SEO
One thing I know for sure!
SEO is changing drastically due to frequent algorithmic changes.
And I learned this information from memes. 🤷
Search engine algorithms are complex, and the variables that play a role in algorithmic changes are infinite.
Social Media
Interesting content attracts visitors who can follow, comment, and share.
Visibility through search increases social engagement in the long term.
Furthermore, social media profiles often rank very high when people search for brands and names.
SEO
Smart SEOs know that links, mentions, and rankings are the result of relationships.
Blogger relations, PR and many other search tactics are actually very social activities.
Skills such as list building, reach, and pitching are crucial for SEO.
Social Media
Although building a follower base takes time, social media posts appear instantly and results can be seen within minutes.
Especially in this time, when new technologies, new social media channels and apps are being discovered, bringing with them new trends and new opportunities to make your brand shine.
(In this case: TikTok )
On the other hand, well-thought-out, targeted paid campaigns can increase your ROAS in less than 5 months.
SEO
It became clearer to me when I looked at one of the Videos watched a video in which the CEO of the MIK Group explains how long it takes for SEO to work.
Based on his experience, he says it takes 3-6 months to see the first significant results.
Social Media
Visuals work best on social media because they help to capture attention in fast-paced social streams.
Images and videos are the most frequently shared content.
Powerful, emotional headlines (in combination with emojis) also work well.
We are experiencing an extraordinary increase in videos.
Content on social media.
The popularity and performance of videos have increased in both organic and paid media.
SEO
Long-form text performs best in search results.
The average page that ranks highly on Google has more than 1500 words.
This does not mean, of course, that Google focuses solely on the length of the articles.
Instead, it is important to consider the depth of information and insights contained in your Content to keep an eye on what's included.
Furthermore, you don't want to stuff keywords into your text everywhere, as Google considers this spam and it will immediately harm your ranking.
Even though most actions and results from social media and SEO are very different.
Both are about connecting with people!
Learning SEO as a newcomer doesn't have to be a scary process.
It can also be entertaining to learn the details of how search engines see your content.
This journey became more interesting when I began to compare it to what I had already accomplished.
SEO is about getting discovered.
Social media is about connecting.
Thank you,
Until next time, with more advanced SEO skills under my belt. 💪
